26 tons, steep slope, tight space ...we deliver!
By accomplishing the delivery of a big CNC Jig Borer to France, we had the premiere for our customer, since this is their biggest CNC Jig Borer they ever installed in Europe.
GML was already involved in the early stages of the sales process to indicate budget for logistics costs. As soon as order was taken into production in Japan, we performed an on-site survey of the unloading- & installation location. The building itselves was planned to be ready Feb-'12, so our action plan had to be based on technical drawings.
Due to complex situation at jobsite (extreme tight space and steep slopes, not accesible for mobile cranes) our engineering staff invented a sliding system to guarantee safe unloading and moving of the main body. Once approved by principal we constructed the newbuild sliding system. In the meanwhile we applied for transport permit in France to ensure it was issued in time.
Upon arrival in Rotterdam we took 12 cases into our bonded warehouse for temporary storage and unpacked the main body. By arranging customs clearance with fiscal representation consignee benifits from cashflow advantages, due to the fact they do not have to pre-finance the import VAT. After loading of main body and all parts we headed to France with 4 trucks.
On 20th of March we delivered 11 cases, installed the ATC-unit and prepared the arrival of the mainbody. On 21st of March we start to move the main body of 26 tons from our trailer into the workshop. By the end of the day we finished the project and satisfied all people involved.
According to dealer and end-user: c'est très magnifique!
